A Little Assistance and Awesome Analytics

Some Assistance, Please?

PA for a Day

What is it?

Virtual assistants are all well and good, but the main drawback is that they’re virtual. Sometimes you just need an actual, physical helping hand. PA for a Day is a New York City–based company that offers part-time PAs who can answer your phones, run to the bank for you, help you out with filing, and more.

How does it work?

PA for a Day costs $20 per hour, with a two hour minimum. PAs are available between 8am and 10pm, seven days a week, with an additional charge for after-hour jobs. The PAs can do general office work and errands, but PAs with specialized skills are also available for in-depth projects. The PAs can travel anywhere within the five boroughs, but don’t expect help with anything illegal, questionably legal, or involving childcare. To sign up for a PA, visit www.PAforaDay.com, select a time and date, and list what you’ll need the PA to do. You then pay in advance, via the website, for the amount of time you’ll need them for, and you’ll be assigned a PA with skills to match your requirements.

How will it help?

If you only need a few hours or so of help per day—or even per week—PA for a Day is a solution to getting part-time help in your office. Whether you need a PA for something basic (like picking up your lunch or taking notes during a meeting) or a bit more involved (creating a press kit or organizing an event), PA for a Day can meet your needs.

Awesome-ized Analytics

Awe.sm

What is it?

A social media tool that helps you optimize what you’re sharing across your social networks, awe.sm (see what they did there?) offers both publishing and analytics capabilities. Awe.sm allows you to measure your social media campaign, tracking how content is shared from your website and who’s driving traffic back to you.

How does it work?

Uses for awe.sm range from branded tracking URLs to see how your links are performing to adding awe.sm-powered Like and Tweet buttons to your website’s pages. Awe.sm can also be integrated into several different web analytics programs (Google Analytics being the big one) to help you incorporate more specific social media stats into your already existing web stats. Although there are similar URL shorteners out there (bit.ly being the most well known), awe.sm is more focused on social integration. Awe.sm can offer individual tracking URLs for the same link, making it easier to track where the click-throughs are coming from. Awe.sm offers a 30-day free trial, and plans after that are $15, $25, or $50 per month. To sign up, visit totally.awe.sm.

If you’re still only concentrating on numbers, like Facebook fans or Twitter followers, you should be moving onto the next step of social media measurement—sharing. It’s not necessarily who’s listening to what you have to say, it’s what’s being shared that’s important. By measuring your social media output, you’ll know what works best in terms of motivating people to share your content.
